Journal #1:
Getting Started!
"So far I am fairly confident and proud of myself. I say this because in the time spanning since the beginning of the year, we [my band and I] have completed about one and a half songs out of four, which means we are well on the right track to starting recording in February. As well as this, I have already seen my relationship with my mentor, my band-members, and my friends grow due to this project. I have learned to be more cooperative with other people, making sure to compromise in most arguments that I can, and making sure to give everyone a fair say in the matter."
Journal #2: First eight fieldwork hours
"I’m quite excited for what is still coming, by the end of March I intend to have everything completed entirely, written, recorded, produced, and out there. I still have to research and question my mentor on how to get my music on iTunes, Spotify, and other forms of music media, and to find a name and even art for the cover, as well as booking a performance time. I am preparing to reach out to these major music companies to discover what the final step will be, and how I’ll be able to do it in the most professional way possible."
Journal #4
"This applied learning project has been very rewarding and exciting to complete so far. I have had a very enjoyable time exploring the music industry in full, and learning more about music theory and actually applying it. I am excited with what the next few months hold!"
